Leakage failure of mechanical seal of slurry pump during trial operation

After the static pressure test of the mechanical seal for the slurry pump, the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation during operation will inhibit the leakage of the medium. Therefore, during trial operation, the leakage of the mechanical seal of the slurry pump is basically caused by the damage of the friction part of the dynamic and static rings after the failure of the seal between the shafts and the end covers.
The main factors causing the leakage failure of the slurry pump mechanical seal test run are:
1. During operation, due to abnormal phenomena such as evacuation, cavitation and pressure suppression, large axial force is caused, causing the dynamic and static rings to contact and separate.
2. When installing the mechanical seal of the slurry pump, the compression amount is too large, resulting in serious wear and abrasion of the friction end.
3. The moving ring sealing ring is too tight, and the spring cannot adjust the axial floating amount of the moving ring.
4. The static ring sealing ring is too looseWhen the moving ring floats axially, the static ring is separated from the static ring seat.
5. There are granular substances in the working medium, which enter the friction end during operation and damage the sealing end of the dynamic and static rings.
6. The design and selection are wrong, the sealing end is lower than the pressure or the sealing material has greater cold shrinkage, etc.
The above phenomenon often occurs in the test run, and sometimes it can be eliminated by adjusting the static ring seat properly, but most of them need to be disassembled and replaced.
