In order to ensure that the slurry pump is not damaged during startup, the slurry pump unit should be inspected during startup.

What Should We Do Before Starting The Slurry Pump?

The inspection steps before the start of the slurry pump are to ensure that the slurry pump is an important operation to avoid damage when starting. The slurry pump must be checked according to the following steps before starting, otherwise it is very easy to cause the slurry pump to fail.

Before starting the slurry pump, check the whole unit according to the following steps

1. The slurry pump should be placed on a solid foundation to bear the full weight of the slurry pump to eliminate vibration, and tighten all anchor bolts;

2. Pipelines and valves shall be supported separately. There is a gasket at the pump flange. When tightening the connecting bolts, attention should be paid to some pump metal lining higher than the flange. At this time, the bolts should not be tightened too tightly to avoid damage to the gasket.

3. Rotate the shaft by hand according to the rotation direction of the pump. The shaft should be able to drive the impeller to rotate without friction, otherwise the impeller clearance should be adjusted.

4, check the motor steering, to ensure that the pump according to the direction of the arrow marked on the pump body rotation, pay attention to the pump is not allowed to reverse rotation, otherwise the impeller thread will trip, resulting in damage to the pump.

5, direct transmission, the pump shaft and motor shaft should be accurate, belt drive pump shaft and motor shaft should be parallel, and adjust the position of the sheave, so that it is perpendicular to the sheave, so as not to cause severe vibration and wear.

6. A detachable short pipe should be installed at the suction pipe of the slurry pump, and its length should be sufficient to disassemble the pump cover and replace the wearing parts to facilitate the maintenance of the pump.

7. Shaft seal inspection: Due to the different shutdown sealing structures of the auxiliary impeller shaft seal of the slurry pump, when the decompression cover is equipped with an oil cup, grease needs to be added through the oil cup, and calcium-sodium-based grease is recommend used for grease.
