Slurry pump pre-start inspection steps

The inspection steps before starting the slurry pump are important operations to ensure that the slurry pump avoids damage during startup. The slurry pump must be checked according to the following steps before starting, otherwise it is very easy to cause slurry pump failure.
Before starting the slurry pump, the entire unit should be checked according to the following steps
1. The slurry pump should be placed on a solid foundation to bear the full weight of the slurry pump to eliminate vibration, and tighten all anchor bolts;
2. The pipeline and valve should be supported separately. There is a gasket at the pump flange. When tightening the connecting bolts, it should be noted that some pumps have metal linings higher than the flange. At this time, the bolts should not be tightened too tight to avoid damaging the gasket.
3. Use your hand to turn the shaft in the direction of the pump rotation. The shaft should be able to drive the impeller to rotate and there should be no friction. Otherwise, the impeller clearance should be adjusted.

4. Check the direction of the motor to ensure that the pump rotates in the direction of the arrow marked on the pump body. Note that the pump is not allowed to rotate in the opposite direction, otherwise the impeller thread will be disengaged, causing damage to the pump.
5. In case of direct drive, the pump shaft and the motor shaft should be precisely aligned. In case of belt drive, the pump shaft and the motor shaft should be parallel, and the position of the groove wheel should be adjusted to make it perpendicular to the groove wheel to avoid severe vibration and wear.
6. A detachable short pipe should be installed at the suction pipe of the slurry pump. Its length should be sufficient to disassemble the pump cover and replace the wearing parts to facilitate the maintenance of the pump.
7. Shaft seal inspection: Due to the different parking seal structure of the pump of the auxiliary impeller shaft seal of the slurry pump, when the pressure reducing cover is equipped with an oil cup, grease needs to be added through the oil cup. Calcium-sodium based grease is recommended for the grease.
