Slurry pumps are a critical piece of equipment in the hydraulic pipeline transportation industry, and their application is becoming increasingly widespread. The performance requirements from various industries are also becoming more stringent. Research on the wear mechanisms of slurry pumps can effectively extend their service life and improve the design standards of slurry pumps.

Study on Wear Mechanism of Slurry Pump

1. Current Research Status of Slurry Pump Wear Mechanism

There are various types of pumps, and this chapter mainly focuses on the centrifugal slurry pumps that are widely used in fields such as non-ferrous metals, mining, and metallurgy.

Research on the wear theory of slurry pumps in our country started relatively late, and many studies related to slurry pump wear have been conducted, yielding a considerable amount of experimental data and research results.

Due to limitations in financial and material resources, it is difficult to conduct comprehensive experimental studies on various pumps and different media, thus the conclusions drawn have significant limitations, affecting their application in actual engineering design.

2. Significance of Research on Slurry Pump Wear Mechanism

Studying the wear mechanism of slurry pumps and the causes of pump failure has important guiding significance for the design of pump hydraulic structures and the research of wear-resistant materials.

3. What is the Wear Mechanism of Slurry Pumps

The wear mechanism of slurry pumps refers to the microscopic general term for the friction and wear process of slurry pumps.

In the entire friction system, the wear of materials is caused by multiple factors.

Due to the relatively complex internal structure of slurry pumps and the friction system, their wear mechanism and friction causes also involve multiple factors, making the research relatively complex.

We will mainly focus on the impeller of the slurry pump to analyze the wear mechanism of the slurry pump.

4. Research Focus

1. Analyze the working principle, friction wear, and wear mechanism of centrifugal slurry pumps, summarize the laws and causes of wear in conjunction with relevant wear theories, in order to find methods to reduce wear.

2. Use today's advanced "slurry pump solid-liquid two-phase flow" design theory and impeller hydraulic design methods to reasonably determine the main performance parameters of the impeller to reduce impeller friction wear and improve the working efficiency and lifespan of the centrifugal pump.

3. Use finite element analysis software to analyze the stress conditions of the impeller during operation and perform strength checks.
