Definition of submersible slurry pump
As the name suggests, a submersible slurry pump works below the liquid surface and is also known by various names such as submersible sand pump, submersible suction pump, submersible slurry pump, and submersible sand discharge pump.
The submersible slurry pump is a redesigned combination of the features of submersible sewage pumps and slurry pumps, making its flow design and physical characteristics more suitable for transporting abrasive slurries, which submersible sewage pumps cannot achieve, as they are mainly used for transporting wastewater or less abrasive liquids, such as rainwater.
In which industries is the submersible slurry pump mainly applied?
1. From the alternative names of the submersible slurry pump, it can be seen that its most common applications are in sand extraction and suction processes, such as in river, lake, and sea sand mining operations where this pump is very convenient to use.
2. Its application in coal washing processes is increasingly recognized. Previously, people were more accustomed to using vertical submerged slurry pumps, but due to limitations in pit depth and liquid depth, their application was not convenient. For example, when submerged more than 2 meters, the performance of vertical submerged slurry pumps greatly decreases, leading to instability and other failures, while ordinary submersible slurry pumps can be submerged up to 25 meters, and high-pressure submersible slurry pumps can reach depths of 120 meters.
3. They are widely used in temporary outdoor operations. Due to the operational characteristics of submersible slurry pumps, they do not require extensive installation support, making them very convenient and flexible. They can be used as needed, requiring only a suspension point, giving them a unique advantage in many outdoor operations.
Differences between vertical slurry pumps and submersible slurry pumps
1. The position during operation is different; vertical slurry pumps are partially submerged in the pit and cannot be completely submerged in the liquid surface, while submersible slurry pumps can be fully submerged (including the motor part) below the liquid surface.
2. Vertical slurry pumps can use ordinary vertical motors without waterproofing, while the motor shaft of submersible slurry pumps is co-axial with the pump shaft, requiring waterproof sealing treatment, allowing both the motor and pump to be submerged simultaneously.
3. Vertical slurry pumps are early products, while submersible slurry pumps are newly developed products based on market demand.
4. In practical applications, submersible slurry pumps have developed rapidly due to their unique advantages, while vertical slurry pumps require fixed installation during use, whereas submersible slurry pumps can be directly submerged and used, making them convenient and flexible.
