Chemical Pump Selection Guide

Due to its unique and strict requirements for conveying media, the chemical manufacturing industry needs to rely on a diverse product portfolio in the production process to ensure an efficient and safe working environment.
The correct selection of chemical pumps is directly related to production efficiency and operational safety, and three factors need to be considered:

  • Material compatibility: Given the diversity of chemical substances and their potential corrosiveness and shear sensitivity, the pump body material must be compatible with the processed medium to prevent leakage and damage.

  • Material and characteristics: Metal pumps (such as 316 stainless steel, aluminum, and cast iron) are wear-resistant and durable, suitable for sand or slurry; while non-metallic pumps (polypropylene, acetal, etc.) are good at handling chemicals that are sensitive to metals and provide good chemical compatibility.
  • Flow and pressure matching: The performance parameters of the pump must be consistent with the actual production needs to ensure sufficient flow and pressure to support smooth operation.
