Effect of Solid Particle Influence on Slurry Pumps

The flow-head curve of the slurry pump changes gently, while the flow resistance loss of the conveying pipeline increases slowly with the increase of flow. The angle between the piping characteristic curve and the performance curve is very small, so that a small change in head can cause a large change in flow rate. Wear and tear of a slurry pump can affect the life of a slurry pump, so using the right materials is a key factor in pump design. The main causes of wear and tear are sliding erosion and particle impact. Therefore, the selection of slurry pump should be considered from two aspects.

1. Working conditions of using slurry pumps
Different industries have different working conditions, and the media that need to be conveyed by slurry pumps are also different. These media are generally in a solid-liquid state, so the hardness and softness of the media are different. When the slurry pump is transporting the medium, the medium will collide with the slurry pump, and the life of the slurry pump will be affected when the medium and the slurry pump collide with the friction. Therefore, when choosing a slurry pump, it is necessary to consider the working conditions of the slurry pump. This extends the life of the pump.
