During the selection process of the slurry pump, we must always comprehensively consider the model of the slurry pump, the performance parameter curve of the slurry pump, and the characteristics of the particles and slurry according to the operating conditions of the slurry pump. We must not choose at will to cause slurry. The error of the pump being usable but not durable, being usable but not easy to use.

During the selection process of the slurry pump, we must always comprehensively consider the model of the slurry pump, the performance parameter curve of the slurry pump, and the characteristics of the particles and slurry according to the operating conditions of the slurry pump. We must not choose at will to cause slurry. The error of the pump being usable but not durable, being usable but not easy to use.

The slurry pump selection steps are as follows:
1. Calculate the critical flow rate VL based on the slurry parameters S, D, and Cw.

2. Calculate the head loss of the clean water pipeline based on the given flow rate and pipeline conditions, and draw the clean water pipeline characteristic curve

3. Draw the characteristic curve of the slurry pipeline and find the water head at a given flow rate.

4. Calculate the clean water lift, increase the lift by 10%, and get the required lift.

5. Determine the type of slurry pump according to the characteristics of the slurry

6. Select the pump specifications based on the given flow rate and calculated clean water lift of the pump. If one pump cannot meet the lift requirements, series connection should be considered. For tandem pumps, the working pressure and bearing life of the pump should be calculated and whether it can meet the requirements.

7. Plot the clean water and slurry pipeline characteristic curves on the performance curve of the selected pump to obtain the pump's operating point and find out the n, NPSHr, and eta values of the pump.

8. Calculate NPSHa. To determine whether the pump is running without cavitation, the operating point flow rate after increasing the head margin should be considered in the calculation (for example: NPSHa <NPSHr+0.3, the installation conditions of the pump inlet can be changed or the model can be re-selected)

9. Calculate the slurry shaft power of the pump, and check whether the shaft power is less than the bracket power of the selected pump. (The head should be the head after adding a margin during calculation.) Select a standard motor

10. Determine the transmission type, installation type and shaft seal type based on the speed and power

11. Calculate the spring outlet pressure and determine the shaft seal water volume and water pressure of the packing shaft seal.
