Mechanical seals for slurry pumps have extremely high requirements for design, processing, and installation. If there is water leakage, it means that there must be a problem in a certain link. The following reasons are summarized through practice.
Slurry pump with mechanical seal on the design, processing, installation have very high requirements, if there is leakage phenomenon that must be in a link in the problem, through practice summed up the following points:
1. rotor periodic vibration. The reason is that the stator is not aligned with the upper and lower end covers or the impeller and main shaft are not balanced, Cavitation or bearing damage (wear),This situation will shorten the slurry pump with mechanical seal life and leakage.
Solution Countermeasure: These problems can be corrected according to the service standard.
2. slurry pump rotor axial channeling is large,The interference between the mechanical seal and the shaft of the slurry pump is large, and the moving ring cannot move flexibly on the shaft. After the pump overturns and the dynamic and static rings are worn,The compensation displacement is not obtained.
Solution Countermeasure: When assembling mechanical seal for slurry pump,The axial channeling of the shaft should be less0.1mm ,The interference between the auxiliary seal and the shaft should be moderate. While ensuring the radial seal, the moving ring can move flexibly on the shaft after assembly (pressing the moving ring to the spring can bounce back freely).
3. Insufficient amount of lubricating oil on the sealing surface causes dry friction or pulling of the sealing end face.
Solution Countermeasure: The height of the lubricating oil surface in the oil chamber shall be higher than the sealing surface of the dynamic and static rings.
When the slurry pump with mechanical seal to meet the full operation requirements, there will be no leakage problem, only long-term reliable use.
