Precautions for Daily Maintenance of Slurry Pump

To make the pump operate safely, attention must be paid to routine maintenancemaintenance should pay attention to the following aspects.

1、Shaft Sealing Maintenance
The packing shaft seal pump should be regularly tested for seal water pressure and watervolume. always keep a small amount of clean water flowing along the shaft, regularly adjustthe packing gland, check the packing and regularly replace the packing. shaft seal waterpressure and shaft seal water volume should be in accordance with the above (shaft sealinspection) requirements. Pumps with oil cups should be regularly filled with oil to lubricate theinternal packing or lip seal.

2、Adjustment of lmpeller
In order to ensure efficient operation of the pump, the clearance between the impeller andthe front guard must be adjusted in a timely manner. The clearance between the metal-linedpump impeller and the front guard is between 40. 5 and 1 mm, while the gap between therubber-lined pump impeller and the front and rear guard should be equal. When adjusting theimpeller clearance, first stop the pump, loosen the bolt holding down the bearing assemblyscrew the nut on the adjusting bolt and move the bearing assembly forward, while rotating theshaft by hand in the direction of the pump rotation until the impeller rubs against the front auardfor metal lined pumps the nut just tightened in front is relaxed by half a turn. Tighten the nut onthe adjusting bolt again so that the bearing assembly moves backwards, at this time theclearance between the impeller and the front sheath is between 40. 5 and 1 mm, for rubberlined pumps move the bearing assembly forward first by tightening the nut on the adjusting boltso that the impeller is in contact with the front sheath, then move the bearing assemblybackwards so that the impeller is in contact with the rear sheath, measure the total distance thebearing assembly moves and take half of this distance as the clearance between the impellerand the front and rear sheaths, then use the nut on the adjusting bolt to tighten the nut. Thenadjust the position of the bearing assembly with the adjusting bolt to ensure the correctclearance between the impeller and the front and rear sheaths. After adjustment, the impellermust be checked again for normal rotation and tightening of the bearing assembly press bolts and adjusting bolts before starting the pump again.
3、Bearing lubrication
If the bearing assembly is assembled correctly, lubricated in the right amount and maintained in a timely manner, the operating life will be longer. In operation, grease must be added regularly, the interval and the amount injected are related to many factors such as the pump speed, bearing specifications, continuous working time, the number of times the pump is stopped and opened, the surrounding environment and the operating temperature, etc. Moreover, too much grease will cause the bearings to heat up, so experience must be accumulated gradually and grease is added in a reasonable and timely manner, in general, the following table can be referred to.

4、 The spare pump should have the shaft turned 1/4 turn per week to allow the bearings to be evenly exposed to static loads and external vibrations.
