Centrifugal Pump
1. Characteristics
The centrifugal pump used to transport tailings is often called a slurry pump. It is a transportation equipment that uses the rotating centrifugal force of the working impeller to obtain kinetic energy from the tailings. The basic structure consists of an impeller, a pump casing, a pump shaft, a bearing and a bracket.

The delivery flow range of the slurry pump is large, and the lift of a single-stage pump is low, allowing multi-stage series connection to increase the lift. The feeding method is mostly press-in. Since the flow-passing parts of the pump body are in direct contact with the slurry, the wear is serious, and wearing parts such as blades need to be replaced frequently. This type of pump is relatively inefficient and usually requires a shaft seal water system.

2. Scope of application
The applicable range of slurry pump flow is wide, ranging from tens to thousands of cubic meters. The flow rate of a single pump also changes greatly with the head. The same pump can work under different working conditions. When the pump When the rated performance cannot meet the requirements of the working conditions, the flow rate and lift of the pump can usually be adjusted by changing the rotation speed or cutting the impeller. However, generally the pump should be operated in the high-efficiency zone as much as possible. This flexibility makes the slurry pump unable to transport slurry at a high flow rate. It has better adaptability in projects that are too stable. Since the lift of a single-stage pump is relatively low, multi-stage pumps can be connected in series to increase the lift. However, too many series connections will bring some disadvantages, which are unreasonable from both a technical and economic perspective. This limits the application of slurry pumps in long-distance conveying systems to a certain extent. This type of pump is often used for tailings transportation at short distances and low lift. For situations where the flow rate is large and the lift is not too high, it is usually economical and reasonable to adopt a series configuration. This type of pump also has wide adaptability to materials. By changing the material or structure of the pump, it can be adapted to tailings of different particle sizes, temperatures, and pH levels, especially when transporting tailings with large flow rates and large particle sizes. The advantages are particularly prominent.
