1. Due to the scouring effect of the water flow, the inner wall of the flow channel in the double-suction pump and the water surface of the impeller become uneven and rough, resulting in an increase in the internal friction coefficient of the water pump. At the same time, the water flow rate in the pump is also relatively large, and the head loss further increases, resulting in a decrease in hydraulic efficiency.

 2. The reason for excessive scale accumulation or corrosion inside the pump casing of a double-suction pump may be due to the addition of drugs before the pump or water quality issues. When there is serious fouling in the pump casing, the wall thickness of the pump casing will increase by about 2 cm. At the same time, scale tumors will form on the inner wall of the water pump, causing the volume of the pump body to decrease, the water pumping volume to decrease, the water flow channel to become rough, and the head loss to increase. This results in a decrease in both objective efficiency and hydraulic efficiency.

 3. Casting defects caused by the processing technology of the double-suction pump, as well as cavitation, abrasion, corrosion, chemical etching, etc., will cause holes or cracks in the flow channel of the pump. When water flows, vortices form, causing energy loss and resulting in reduced hydraulic efficiency.

4. The cavitation problem on the surface of the double-suction pump impeller is caused by the negative pressure generated by the water flow on the back of the blade and the low-pressure area in the pressure chip.

5. The volumetric efficiency and mechanical efficiency of the double-suction pump will decrease due to volume loss and mechanical loss. As the pump is used for a long time, mechanical wear will lead to increased leakage and increased resistance, thus reducing the volumetric efficiency and mechanical efficiency of the pump.
